  • Personal and corporate pride, fulfillment and satisfaction having used your team efforts as a force for good

  • A chance to experience running a real kitchen with professional chefs

  • An experience of a high-pressure lunch service to circa 150 homeless and vulnerable people

  • A delicious sit down lunch after service, shared with your team

  • An introduction to the work of The Passage in supporting homeless and vulnerable people – facilities, Q&A with key staff.

  • A recipe pack with all the recipes cooked on the day, reduced portion sizes to suit a home kitchen

What happens on the day?

  • The day starts with a briefing session, explaining the impact of the work and then the team defines their roles and responsibilities in relation to the tasks and challenges ahead.
  • Our expert chefs then mentor and guide the team through the cooking of the meal.
  • Thereafter the team either serve the meal to the shelter's visitors OR pack up the food ready for offsite transport to centres of need.
  • After the kitchen clear-up, the whole team come together to eat -  sharing what they’ve cooked and reflecting on their experiences.

Optional Learning & Development Layer
We can incorporate a more in-depth learning and development (L&D) framework into the design with upfront learning sessions and a more robust reflection, key learning & action planning session to follow the meal.  The content can be based around development themes such as understanding diverse work styles and personality;  how to best communicate; team stages of development and how to be high performing; building resilience in teams, managing change, reducing team stress and conflict resolution etc. The specifics of the design will be determined in consultation with the client and to meet the specific team’s needs.
